Beaches in Rovinj

Rovinj is a tourist destination that has long been recognized for its clean sea and beautiful coastline. If you like sandy beaches, then you will not be delighted with Rovinj at first sight, because the coast is rocky. But in the end everyone is amazed with a beautiful blend of greenery and rocky beaches. For those who do not like crowds that are very common on the Adriatic coast in the season, Rovinj is the right destination because you can with no problem find your little hidden bay.

Stari grad – Monte Beach

On the western side of the old part of Rovinj you will find the Monte Beach. The beach is 150 meters long and is divided into a part which is called the Lantern and Balota where it is a little more difficult to access the sea but is suitable for adults and those who love jump into the sea. The beaches are rocky and there is no natural shade. Since the traffic of motor vehicles is prohibited in the old town, the beach Stari grad Monte can be reached by foot or by bicycle.

Lone Bay

Lone Bay is part of the protected forest park “Zlatni rt” with one of the most visited beaches in the city. The beach is a 15-minute walk from the center of town. To meet the needs of fans of gravel beaches, gravel has been brought so now the beach is ideal for families with small children. For those who prefer privacy, small rocky beaches can be found in the vicinity. A few meters from the beach there is a dense pine forests where you can find deep shade during hot summer days. Also on the beach Lone there are two bars where you can refresh yourself.

Island Katarina beaches

The island of Katarina is recognized as the most beautiful island of the Rovinj archipelago. It is located just a few hundred meters from the city center and it can be reached simply by taxi boats from the shore. The best beaches of the Katarina island are located on the east side; rocky with several sandy coves. Hotel Katarina is located on the island and has an outdoor pool, a cafe, a restaurant and a diving club. For those who like sports activities, a pitch for playing volleyball is available. For the youngest, there is a sandbox for children near the beach.

On the northwest side of the island there are known rocks, Gold, Silver and Bronze. These are very high cliffs that fall vertically into the sea  and as such represent attractions for those who love to jump into the sea.

Kuvi Beach

Kuvi Beach is located about 3 km south of the town of Rovinj and it is one of the most visited beaches in the city. The city recently started renovating the beach, so it is covered with fine gravel. Some parts of the beach are rocky. Near the Kuvi Beach there is the Resort Villas Rubin, so bars, restaurants and recreational facilities in this part are not missing. The beach is ideal for families with small children who can safely have fun in the shallow water. The beach is equipped with showers, toilets and changing rooms.

Cape Skaraba

Skaraba bay is about 3 kilometers from the center of town and it is within the Forest Park “Golden Cape” which extends to the beach providing shade during the day. Given that bicycle paths are arranged to the beach you can come by bike or car which you need to park close to the entertainment center Monvi. The coast here is rocky with a few small bays. At the very cape Skaraba there is a beautiful beach with flat rocks that are suitable for sunbathing. The western part of the Cape has a very rocky coastline and the entrance into the sea is not accessible, so it is not recommended for families with small children and the elderly. East of Cape Skaraba is Big Skaraba bay where there is a dock which is for many guests a favorite spot for swimming and jumping into the sea. The bay is covered with pebbles.

Valalta Beach

The beach is located north of the city center and is a paradise for lovers of nudism. The beach is pebbly and sandy and is located in the nudist camp. The beach is equipped with showers, water slides, an outdoor pool with sea water, and there are various other entertainment facilities. Since 2000, the beach has had the Blue flag which is an international recognition of clean sea and beaches.

Amarin Beach

Amarin Beach is located 3 kilometers from the center of town to the north and is also one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The beach is partly gravel and partly rocky. Just above the beach there is a tourist resort Amarin where you will find a great selection of restaurants, bars and various shops. The beach is equipped with showers, changing rooms and visitors have access to several sport activities. On the beach you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, and nearby, in the tourist village, there is an outdoor pool.

Rovinj Amarin beach

The beach has a nice entrance to the sea and is suitable for families with small children and the elderly. Because of the nice entrance into the sea Amarin is suitable for children and older people, but also for young people who can enjoy a variety of activities and have fun with a rich night program.

Villas Rubin Beach

Villas Rubin Beach is 3 kilometers from the center of town and is within the eponymous  holiday village. The beach extends 1500 meters. On the border with campsite Polari there is a gravel section suitable for children. Visitors have at their disposal a windsurf center, children’s playground and a restaurant, cafe, tennis courts, football, basketball, table tennis, mini golf and volleyball. Also, there is a diving center nearby with diving school and the possibility of renting diving equipment. Right next to the beach is a swimming pool. One part of the Villas Rubin Beach is semi-nudist.
