The City of Split has become a popular tourist destination, during the last years. The 1700 hundred city centre build around the palace of the roman emperor Diocletian is of course the main attraction. But Spilt has more to offer, in the summer you have daily cultural happenings like concert, exhibitions or celebrations. Here you can see our Split photos
Trogir has more or less everything what a holiday destination needs. Historical old town with lots of sights and a beautiful architecture, accommodation for about 20.000 guest in the peak season, 4 nice beach, sand and pebble with in a radius of 5 km from city centre, an airport 6 km away. If that didn’t convince you, maybe our Trogir pictures will.
Situated 12 km an 45 minutes with the car ferry from Split, Brac is an easy holiday destination to reach, the Island is maybe not as well know as the Island Hvar, but never the less, the island a recommendable and cheaper alternative. On the island you have 8-10 coastal cities to choose between, the most famous is Bol. You can have a look at the cities here – Brac Photos.
Primošten and Sibenik are nice cities, especially Primošten can be recommended as a holiday base, as you can see on the Primošten photos it has nice beaches. Around Sibenik there is a few large hotel complexes, but it is of course also possible to find accommodation in the city centre, as you can see on the Sibenik Photos, it is maybe not the worst place to be!
The city of Makarska is situated at the Makarska Riviera, just below the Biokovo Mountains and nature park. The peak of the mountains Sveti Jura rises 1786 meter above see level just behind the city, which gives an amazing panorama view, From the small peninsula Sveti Petar you can take some excellent panorama pictures of Makarska
The National park Plitvice lakes, is one of the most visited sights in Croatia, the park which are under UNESCO protection is an amazing nature experience and excellent place to get some great pictures. Although it for obvious reason can not be 100% confirmed it is likely that the famous explorer Marco Polo was born and living in Korcula. You will find lots of thinks related to Marco Polo in the old town, but this should not be the main reason for a visit, as you can see on our Korcula Pictures, other place like Lumbarda and Vela luka can also be recommended |

Hi,
We are staying in Split end of June for 3 days. We want to visit Hvar and Brac. Would you recommend a private excursion? I see Split Excursion where it offers tours. It is a bit pricey but is it worth it? We are on a budget but willing to do this if it is well worth the money. We are looking at the Blue Cave and Hvar island. There is also a Tour called Hvar and Pakleni islands which is a bit less. What would you recommend? Thank you.
Hi Mitz
Brac you can visit on your own, Visitin Hvar on a day trips is possible, but a bit complicated, Blue cave is not possible on you own within a day.
I had some quest here in May, they did the trip to Blue Cave and Hvar Island, they where quite satisfied. i don’t know about the other tours.
Best, Morten
